Who Are We?
Sign By The X, LLC, is the brain child of Virginia native, Ebony S. Brown. Inspired to form SBX in 2015 when she received her notary commission, Ebony would put this dream on hold until 2019.
During that time in between inspiration & implementation, Ebony learned that there were so many opportunities that could be implemented simply because she held a notary commission. As such, she would go on to perform vehicle inspections and general notary work while maintaining a full time position with a local mortgage company.
It wasn’t until the fall of 2019 that Ebony decided to make her dream a reality by incorporating Sign By The X. It was just the beginning for SBX as a pending layoff would have a major impact on Ebony’s employment status allowing her to go full steam ahead with Sign By The X.
Inspired by her mortgage experience & love for real estate, Ebony pledged that Sign By The X would be a client centric mobile notary service specializing in loan transactions. Even though one of SBX’s main focuses are transactions in the area of real estate, we still provide notarial services to any and all that may need them while pledging “to meet them where they are“.

From an appointment requested on a Monday at 2 p.m. to a request at 2 a.m. on a Sunday, we strive to be available to assist you whenever there is a need.
